Mermaid Garden Cafe has been part of downtown Klamath Falls since May 2006. Founded by Kelly Waterman-Raye, the cafe was created to fill a gap in the community for fresh, health-conscious dining. With help from family members who traveled to renovate the space, handcrafted furnishings, and artwork created by loved ones, the cafe quickly became known for its homemade soups, vibrant salads, and warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Over the years, Mermaid Garden Cafe earned a reputation for consistency, quality, and thoughtful preparation. Everything was made with care, and guests returned knowing they could expect fresh ingredients and dependable flavor every time.
In late 2025, Mermaid Garden Cafe entered its newest chapter under the ownership of Katherine Brown. Katherine had already been part of the cafe's daily rhythm, working front of house, supporting operations, and helping manage the financial and organizational backbone of the business. With a background in high-level management and operations, she brings structure, stability, and long-term vision to this beloved local establishment.
Today, Mermaid Garden Cafe remains a cozy gathering space serving fresh, homemade wraps, paninis, soups, salads, and protein bowls. The focus continues to be simple: quality ingredients, made from scratch, offered at approachable prices, and served with genuine hospitality.
